Sign at Junction 17M6 Junction 17

Junction 17 was opened in 1963 as one of a series of Cheshire junctions serving some of the smaller towns that lie close to the M6's route through the county, this junction serving the nearby towns of Sandbach and Congleton.

The junction is a single road overbridge connected to the M6 by sliproads, typical of some of the quieter M6 junctions. However in common with a number of junctions in Cheshire it is now signed on the M6 with overhead signs.
